“What a place for a house.

What a house for the place”
Country Life - September 1940
Hilles House is a stunning Cotswold house, built in the Arts and Crafts style, near Painswick in Gloucestershire. The house is dramatically situated over 600 feet above sea level on the edge of the Cotswold plateau, overlooking five counties, with a spectacular view that encompasses the Seven Bridges to the west and northwards to the Malvern Hills.
Hilles House is the family home of Detmar Blow and is now available for the first time for civil wedding ceremonies and marquee receptions.
The beautiful Great Hall is licensed for civil weddings for up to 100 guests and the room is decorated with royal portraits and James 1’s coat of arms with the motto Beati Pacifici which means Blessed are the Peacemakers.
We have teamed up with some great marquee suppliers and caterers to offer a truly unique wedding package and great value for money. Whether you want a lavish banquet in a traditional English marquee or a more informal cold buffet or barbeque in a Kata Tipi marquee with a bonfire and fireworks, we can help you organize the most important day of your life. We can also recommend numerous florists, photographers and cake makers, as well as local hotels and bed and breakfasts, to make your life as easy as possible.
Our experienced and friendly team very much look forward to discussing your wedding plans and we also look forward to meeting you and showing you this exceptional new venue.
We enjoy a challenge and if you are looking for somewhere to host your wedding day that is out of the ordinary, then Hilles House may be the wedding venue for you!
