Weddings At Hilles House
With its extraordinary setting, bohemian history and relaxed and informal atmosphere, Hilles House offers a unique wedding venue with breathtaking views.
Hilles House is available for weddings from May to September each year and the Hilles wedding team are dedicated to helping you create a truly bespoke and memorable experience.
We have a licence to host civil ceremonies for up to 100 guests in the Great Hall within the main house.
Costs for Weddings at Hilles House
Hilles house Big Hall is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 100 guests. For ceremonies in the Big Hall or for Humanist ceremonies outside, the charge is £650.

Your Marriage Ceremony
If you’d prefer a church service, or would like to invite more than 100 guests, Hilles House wedding team are ready and waiting to help facilitate your wedding at one of the beautiful, historic churches nearby such as Painswick (pictured above), Pitchcombe, Cranham or further afield.

Hilles house can provide 150 folding wooden chairs. For tables, extra chairs, fancy loos and even showers if you are planning on Glamping we can recommend:

We are delighted to recommend Victoria Abbosh, a professional makeup artist based in The Cotswolds, specialising in bridal and beauty makeup.
Hayes Farm is only 15 minutes drive from Hilles House and offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in a stunning 17th century 5 bed grade II listed farmhouse, plus 5 more in a beautiful bungalow in the grounds.
Signature Blue have some wonderful Shepard huts which you can hire with them directly, these also include the “carabella” with its own double bed, shower and toilet.

Where will our guests park?
Cars will enter through the South drive, drop off at the House and then go on up to park in the car park.
Coach entrance – North drive, drop off at the car park and then guests will walk down the drive.
Loading and access – The South drive has an arch – Height restriction of 6ft 6. The max weight for both North and South drives is lorries up to 7.5 tonnes. All deliveries to enter down the signed North drive.
Do you provide tables and chairs?
We don’t provide tables, but can provide 150 folding wooden chairs. We recommend Bisley Hire for tables and any extra chairs.
If you’re planning to have your wedding ceremony in the Big Hall, we will set up the chairs initially, then during drinks reception (which is normally an hour or two) we have time to move them across to the evening venue. We will need some help from the catering team and maybe a few ushers if they are happy to be roped in…
What about catering facilities?
We have a catering tent, and caterers will need to bring their own equipment. There is water available from a tap outside the kitchen of the main house. Our recommended caterers are already familiar with our set up.
Can our guests bring confetti?
We like to do our best for the environment, so just natural ﬂower petals or dissolvable confetti please.
What about sound?
We have a basic PA system, including speakers with 2 AUX inputs and a mic, which works fine for the speeches. You can also plug a laptop or phone in later if you have a prepared playlist.
Where can we plug in?
The catering tent has 6 plug sockets, which should be ample for your needs.
Do we need to provide lighting for the evening?
We have a string of festoon lighting which provides a warm, cosy light for the evening festivities. We also we provide a canopy of fairy lights, and you are welcome to bring your own additional lighting.
Can I bring candles?
Unfortunately we can’t allow real candles in the house or around it, but there are some really good faux candles and lanterns around.

Where are the loos?
We have a wooden loo block close to the house. For weddings of more than 150 guests, we advise hiring extra to avoid queues. Again, we can recommend our trusted suppliers:
Where can we smoke?
We have a no smoking policy unside, but there is a smoking area outside the Hilles kitchen and the loo block area. We will provide sand buckets for cigarette butts.
What about Rubbish?
All rubbish must be cleared from site; you can either do this yourselves or for £350 we can arrange this for you.
